EVERETT, Wash. —

Firefighters responding to a technical rescue call at Paine Field found a Boeing employee in need of medical help early Wednesday.

A number of fire units responded to the call, which was said to involve a confined-space rescue.

Paine Field Fire received a call for assistance at about 6 a.m., a Snohomish County spokesman said.

"When they arrived, they found a Boeing employee who was in need of medical assistance due to an illness. The employee was transported to a hospital," Christopher Schwarzen, with the County Executive's Office, wrote in an email.

The incident was not plane-related, and there were no injuries, he said.
