TACOMA, Wash. —

Police are looking for whoever vandalized a Lakewood police officer's patrol car and set fire to his personal car while the cars were parked outside his Spanway home Wednesday night.

Gang graffiti was sprayed on the cars in the incident that happened at about 10:45 p.m. Police said the officer's personal vehicle was set on fire, and the fire spread to the patrol car. The officer was inside his home with his family at the time of the fire.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and the filing of charges.

Police said a suspicious late 1980s maroon Buick or Cadillac was seen in the neighborhood before the vandalism and arson occurred.

Crimestoppers' number is 253-591-5959.
