Saturday Marks Anniversary Of Jewish Federation Shooting

SEATTLE —

Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of a shooting rampage at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.

A gunman stormed the downtown Seattle office, killing one woman who worked there and wounding five others.

In the year since the shootings, the office has been remodeled and reopened, and four of the five injured women have returned to work.

Because the anniversary falls on the Jewish Sabbath, the Federation plans a private observance with no public gathering.

The man accused in the shooting, Naveed Haq, is charged with aggravated first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary and malicious harassment.

Haq pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. His trial is scheduled for January.
