PUYALLUP, Wash. —
Police are looking for a man in connection with the theft of a donation bin who goes by the nickname “Ahab” because he apparently looks like a pirate.
Puyallup police said two men stole a Children's Miracle Network donation bin in Puyallup.
The News Tribune said the theft occurred about 7:10 p.m. Jan. 20 outside the Walmart store at 310 31st Ave. SE.
Witnesses and surveillance cameras saw two men loading the donation bin into a black 1990s Ford Thunderbird and driving away.
One man, who was arrested, told police the other man involved in the theft was known only by the nickname Ahab, because the man looks like a pirate, police said.
Captain Ahab was the famous commander of the ship in Herman Melville’s famous novel Moby Dick, but Ahab was not a pirate.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detective Michael Lusk at 253-841-5521 or at mlusk@ci.puyallup.wa.us. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
