School bus evacuated after student yells ‘bomb’

SNOHOMISH, Wash. —

A school bus was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a student yelled "bomb,” said officials with the Snohomish School District.

 

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a bomb threat on a bus that departed from Centennial Middle School around 2:30 p.m.

 

According to school officials, a student yelled “bomb.”

 

Authorities arrived at the intersection of South Machias Road and Old Machias Road, where the bus pulled over.

 

The students were taken off and placed on another bus, and they are safe, said school officials.

 

According to the Sheriff's Office, the threat was believed to be false. 

 

The student who made the threat has been detained for further questioning.

 

Police will continue to investigate.
