Search Intensifies For Bothell Man Missing Since Friday

Bothell, Washington —

Friends and family of a Bothell man who disappeared Friday are planning a major search for Thursday afternoon.

Police found Jeff Johnson's truck Sunday at Carkeek Park in Seattle, but so far, there's no sign of the 59-year-old.

"I'm heartbroken," Johnson's wife, Sharen Summers, told KIRO 7 on Wednesday. "Something must have happened to him. He must have stopped to help someone and something happened to him."

Johnson was last seen leaving his house in Bothell. He was on his way to work but never showed up.

"I just want to find him," Summers said. "We have some good years ahead of us."

Johnson and Summers have been married for more than 15 years. They met on a blind date in 1992.

Summers said the two have talked about retirement and have plans to travel the globe together.

On Wednesday, Johnson's coworkers at PCC in Fremont prepared fliers and discussed plans to search Carkeek Park on Thursday.

Justine Basse said it isn't like Johnson to just disappear.

"He's a big part of our family," she said. "It's hard to be here without him, and we think about him all day long at work."

Snohomish County Sheriff's detectives say there is no indication of violence in Johnson's disappearance.

Summers said she expects about 20 volunteers to meet at the park at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

"I really love Jeff," she said. "I need him back. I want him to come home."
