Second Case Of West Nile Confirmed


A second case of West Nile virus has been confirmed in Washington State.

The Center for Disease Control in Atlanta confirmed a Pierce County woman in her 40s contracted West Nile Virus.

The woman is the wife of the man who was confirmed as the state’s first West Nile victim on Sept. 13.

West Nile virus cannot be transmitted from human to human; it must be contracted directly from a mosquito bite.
