Several Hurt In Accident Blamed On Road Rage



ROCHESTER, Wash. —

Road rage is to blame for a five-car collision Sunday on Interstate 5 near Rochester that left several people seriously hurt, Washington State Patrol troopers said.

Traffic was backed up for 10 miles in both directions and both southbound lanes of I-5 were blocked after the 12:20 p.m. crash about one mile north of state Route 12.

Witnesses reported seeing two people driving erratically and cutting one another off. One car crossed the center median into southbound traffic and collided with four other vehicles.

State Patrol reported six injuries, including an elderly couple that was listed in serious condition Sunday.

At least one driver could face reckless driving charges or vehicular assault, troopers said.
