Sewage Floods South Seattle Homes

SEATTLE —

Sewage was flooding some homes in South Seattle early Monday, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The sewage entered basements in at least five homes near South Willow Street and 40th Avenue South.

One man said he had about $25,000 in damage.

Sound Transit officials working on the light rail line on Martin Luther King Way said heavy rain overwhelmed a pump.

They said a contractor is getting a second pump online to help with the water backup.
