Sex Offender Solicits Baby-Sitting Jobs

OLYMPIA, Wash. —

Thurston County prosecutors said a level III sex offender was caught posting an ad on a craigslist Web site offering his services as a baby sitter, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Deputy prosecutor Jodilyn Erikson-Muldrew said John Gray had his picture posted on the popular site and a citizen recognized his photo, looked him up and found him to be a convicted sex offender.

Gray never registered his address with police.

Prosecutors have now charged Gray with failing to register as a sex offender, but said their bigger concern is what they call predatory behavior on the Internet.

“It is very concerning to us that he was out there with his picture soliciting baby-sitting jobs,” said Erikson-Muldrew.
