Skagit Shooting Suspect Ruled Incompetent

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. —

Isaac Zamora is incompetent to stand trial on charges that he killed six people, a judge has ruled.

The ruling means Zamora will undergo treatment at Western State Hospital until he is competent to assist in his own defense.

Zamora has appeared several times in court, including an initial appearance in which he yelled that he "kills for God" and other hearings in which he swore at the judge.

Earlier court documents said Zamora doesn't understand the charges against him, can't assist in his own defense and isn't cooperating.

Zamora faces six counts of aggravated murder in connection with the killings last September that included a sheriff's deputy.
