OLYMPIA, Wash. —
The Thurston County Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of the man deputies said attacked and tried to kidnap a woman near Yelm last week.
Investigators said he tried to force the 21-year-old woman into his pickup truck as she walked along Railway Road Southeast last Monday.
The driver asked if she wanted a ride. When she declined, he jumped out and tried to force her into the truck. She resisted and was assaulted.
The attacker is described as white, in his early 30s, with a goatee, dirty blond or light brown hair with a salt and pepper look to it.
Police told the Tacoma News Tribune that the man had crooked teeth and was wearing a plaid shirt. The woman told police he smelled strongly of alcohol.
The pickup was black or dark blue, possibly a Ford F150.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 360-786-5500 or 360-740-2740, or Crime Stoppers at 360-493-2222.
