Smash-And-Grab Robbery Caught On Camera

BELLEVUE, Wash. —

A man backed an SUV into a Bellevue computer store, busting through windows to snatch several laptops in a brazen burglary late Wednesday night that was caught on surveillance video.

The driver of an Isuzu Rodeo made two failed attempts to back into the store through the front window before making a third try that shattered the store's windows, said reporter Jeff Dubois.

"He went forward, got a little speed, popped up onto the sidewalk and smashed right through the windows," said Dubois, describing the video during live coverage Thursday morning on KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The broken window allowed the man to reach into the store and grab four or five laptop computers, Dubois said.

The owner of the Computer Sonics store -- located in a strip mall off Bellevue Way just south of Bellevue Square -- told Dubois that about $10,000 worth of merchandise was stolen.

Bellevue police took a report and urged anyone who recognizes the man to call them.
