Some Sea-Tac Flights To Denver Canceled

SEATAC, Wash. —

Some flights between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Denver were disrupted early Friday because of another blizzard in Colorado.

Passengers leaving from Sea-Tac are advised to check with their airline for the status of their flights.

Cancellations and delays were already starting Thursday night because of the storm rolling through Colorado, but there were also a few early flights.

Airlines called passengers Thursday night to ask them if they could arrive early for departures in order to get ahead of the storm.

The Landon family from Phoenix arrived at Sea-Tac a day early to avoid the nationwide gridlock caused when the Denver airport shut down last time.

"We were originally scheduled to go out at 6 a.m. Friday, but because of what happened to us coming from Phoenix to here, we thought it would be better to get here early and get a flight things started to get delayed here," said Don Landon.

Hundreds of other passengers at the airport are rebooking flights as well.

Kathy Davis was at Sea-Tac to pick up her 75-year-old disabled mother. She said any travel problem would have been disastrous.

"We watched the weather report quite closely and kept calling the airline to make sure. She got out an hour late, but she got out. They had to deice the plane," said Davis.

Last week, some passengers where stranded at Sea-Tac while the Denver airport was closed by snow.
