Social Security recipients, working married couples or those who work more than one job may be receiving less money than they're expecting from next year's tax refunds.
The IRS said many workers have been receiving small tax credit "advances" in their paychecks since April because the government has not been withholding as much money, hoping to jump start spending as part of the massive $787 billion stimulus package.
The IRS suggests everyone should check their withholdings throughout the year so they don't get hit with an unexpected tax bill next April.
