Statue For J.P. Patches

Related

Help the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Seattle broadcast of J.P. Patches and honor Chris Wedes with a bronze statue in the heart of Fremont, affectionately known as the Center of the Universe.

A group of Patches Pals, with a little help from NATAS, is working to raise money to commission life-sized bronze sculptures of J.P. Patches and Gertrude, played by Chris Wedes and Bob Newman on KIRO-TV from 1958 to 1981. The group's goal is to dedicate the statue in August 2008.

As of March 1, 2008, about $125,000 has been raised.
