High winds and rain are going to hit Western Washington, along with more snow in the mountains, starting Sunday and into Monday.

KIRO 7 Meteorologist Morgan Palmer notes that the storm isn’t of “historic” strength, but there may be power outages and fallen trees throughout the region.

A winter weather advisory, storm warnings and watches have been issued by the National Weather Service for the region.

On Sunday evening, the National Weather Service sent out a Blizzard Warning emergency alert for the Olympics and Cascades.

Winter storm warnings are in effect from Sunday until noon Monday for the Olympics, along with the Cascades from Sunday evening through 6 p.m. Monday.

The Olympics also have a storm watch in effect from Sunday night into Monday morning.

High wind warnings are in effect for the lowlands from late Sunday evening through Monday morning, and the central coast will be from midnight until 10 a.m. Monday.

Seattle City Light officials said there could be power outages throughout the Puget Sound area due to the strong winds Sunday evening.

If outages do occur, customers should call 206-684-7400 or go to the Seattle City Light's website to check on the status of outages.

Coastal flood watches are in effect for the coast and interior shorelines.
