Stranded Hunters Rescued, Reunited With Families

ASHFORD, Wash. —

Three hunters at the center of a search and rescue effort are safe and warm after they were found in the woods near Ashford on Monday.

The three men were greeted by family and friends Monday evening.

They were forced to spend Sunday night in their truck after they got stuck in deep snow.

The three were brought out of the woods by snowmobile after a rescue plane spotted them near their truck earlier in the day.

"Seeing them guys on the snowmobiles, they took care of us. They were friendly. I'm going to bring them a couple pounds of deer meat a piece," said Kris Delano, one of the rescued hunters.

Two hikers were also stranded in the snow in the same area.

Late Monday afternoon, a rescuer on a four-wheeler spotted those hikers walking down a forest service road. They are OK.
