Strollers Recalled Because Of Hazard

About 14,300 Phil & Teds e3 Strollers with doubles seats have been recalled.

The strollers, manufactured by Regal Lager Inc., are being recalled because children can touch the rear wheels when seated in the stroller's add-on seat, which poses an abrasion hazard to children. The company received one report of a child scraping his arm after touching the wheel.

The three-wheeled stroller is sold in a variety of fabric colors and has a black, steel-tubing frame. An additional seat, called a "Doubles Kit," can be added directly behind the main stroller's seat, allowing another child to ride. When used in this position, a seated child can reach the wheels. Internet retailers and baby furniture and baby products stores nationwide sold the product from July 2005 through November 2006.

Consumers should stop placing the add-on seat in this lower position and contact Regal Lager for free wheel guards. For more information, call the company at 800-593-5522 or visit http://www.regallager.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.
