Suspects Sought In Beating Of College Student

PARKLAND, Wash. —

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies have been going door-to-door in Parkland, handing out fliers in hopes that someone saw the three men who crashed a party late last Sunday and nearly beat a Pacific Lutheran University student to death, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Robert Grolbert, who lives in the house where the party took place, said one of the students who asked the men to leave was suddenly blindsided.

"They'd get him down and start kicking him in the head repeatedly. I mean, it was absolutely brutal," said Grolbert.

Witnesses said that even after the 24-year-old student was unconscious, the beating continued. The victim has broken bones, a concussion and missing teeth. He will need reconstructive surgery on his jaw and must use a cane.

Three other PLU students who tried to protect their friend were also badly beaten.

"The other guys have stitches. Another friend has two staples in his head and stitches on his nose. Two other guys have black eyes and beat-up faces," said Grolbert.

Deputies are hoping someone will reveal who the men are. The victims say they didn't know the attackers.
