Suspicious package shuts down Bellevue street

BELLEVUE, Wash. —

Police are investigating a suspicious device found near a Bellevue bank Wednesday afternoon.

 

The incident happened between 100th and 102nd avenues on Northeast 8th Street.

 

According to police, witnesses saw a white man throw a cylindrical object out of his car window that had the words “blow-up” on it.

 

A bomb squad with the Bellevue Police Department was sent to the scene.

 

The Washington Federal Bank was evacuated.

 

Northeast 8th Street was shut down for police to investigate.
