SWAT Responds To Incident At Tukwila Hotel

TUKWILA, Wash. —

Police surrounded a hotel in Tukwila after a man said he was being threatened by two people in a room.

Tukwila police said a man jumped from a window on the third floor of the Econolodge on Tukwila International Boulevard and 140th Street Wednesday morning. Officers said the man told them he was being held in a room against his will by a man and a woman who were armed with a gun or a knife.

Police said were unsure if anyone is in the room, but a SWAT team responded.

A KIRO 7 Eyewitness News crew at the scene saw officers with rifles and heard a negotiator say, “You’re completely surrounded.”

Officers later discovered the room was empty.
