SWAT Team Called To 'Standoff' In Greenwood

SEATTLE —

A man came out of his home after what police thought was a standoff in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood Thursday in an incident stemming from an argument with his ex-wife.

A SWAT team was called after the man's ex-wife told police he doused his children with gasoline.

It turns out the man may have had a seizure while gassing-up his lawn mower and his two sons, ages 11 and 13, stayed with him in the house despite police pleas for them to come out.

Police said the two boys were never in danger, and after the man is treated by doctors, police will take him to jail for allegedly violating his ex-wife's no-contact order.

She also struggled with police as they questioned her. She was arrested as well.

The children are in protective custody.
