Tacoma Hit-And-Run Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

TACOMA, Wash. —

A 44-year-old Tacoma man has been ordered held on $300,000 bail in the hit-and-run death of a 12-year-old boy on Christmas evening.

James Lawrence Anderson pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Pierce County Superior Court to charges of vehicular homicide and felony hit and run.

He's accused of driving the car that struck young Gerald Reed as the boy crossed a street, and then driving away without stopping to help.

A neighbor's tip led police to the car Anderson allegedly was driving.
