TACOMA, Wash. —

Prosecutors have charged a Tacoma man with raping and molesting two girls, ages 11 and 12, in a home where he rented a room.

Luis Fernando Pablo Lara faces nine counts of child rape, one count of child molestation and five counts of intimidation of a witness, according to court documents obtained by KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Kevin McCarty.

Lara pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Friday afternoon.

Police said he raped two girls on several occasions, according to court documents, and threatened the 12-year-old by holding a knife to the throat of a baby in the home.

An immigration hold has also been issued preventing his release.
