SEATTLE —
One of two men accused of plotting a terrorist attack on a Seattle military recruiting station will plead guilty in Federal Court on Thursday, his lawyer said.
Walli Mujahidh will change his earlier not guilty plea, said Michele Shaw, his attorney.
The 32-year-old from Los Angeles was arrested in June along with Khalid Abdul-Latif of Seattle in an FBI sting. Federal prosecutors said the men were taken into custody when they arrived at a warehouse garage to pick up machine guns to use in the attack.
Prosecutors said the two men were inspired by the massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, and that they fantasized about the media attention they'd receive. Prosecutors said the two took weeks to plan an attack at the Military Entrance Processing Station in South Seattle, a recruiting station for all military branches.
Among other things, the two men are charged with conspiracy to murder officers and employees of the United States and conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.
Mujahidh is expected in court at 9 a.m. KIRO 7 Eyewitness News crews will be there, and will have details on kirotv.com and KIRO 7 Eyewitness News at noon.
