TACOMA —
The lights went out for about 26,000 Tacoma Public Utilities customers in east Pierce County on Friday morning, KIRO 7 partner The News Tribune Reported.
Utility crews told The Tribune that a transmission line went down after large insulators failed. The outages affected several schools in the Bethel School District and areas near Elk Plain, Graham, Loveland and Spanaway.
The number of outages had been cut to about 6,300 just before 11 a.m.
