Thousands Of People 'Rally To Restore Sanity' In Seattle

SEATTLE —

Thousands of people turned out in downtown Seattle to "Rally To Restore Sanity" Saturday.

The rally coincided with a much larger rally in Washington, D.C., organized by Comedy Central's Jon Stewart.

The D.C. rally created a huge buzz on the Internet with thousands of people on Facebook saying they would attend.

Stewart said that the idea for the "Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Fear" wasn't so much about politics, but to calm the political shouting matches.

In Seattle, a crowd estimated between 2,000 to 3,000 endured a steady rain at Westlake Park.
