Thurston County Sheriff’s Office Recovers Stolen Car

LACEY, Wash. —

The Thurston County Sheriff's Office said it has recovered a sheriff's office car stolen from an employee’s home earlier this month.

Police said the car was located in Lacey and two people have been arrested in connection with the theft.

Officials said the two suspects had been prowling vehicles in the area, and when they got inside the sheriff's office car and realized it belonged to law enforcement, they decided to steal it.

Most of the equipment in the car appears to be intact.

Sheriff's officials told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that a dash light bar and a knife-proof vest worn by corrections officers may be missing.

A complete search of the car and its contents will be conducted Tuesday.
