Toddler Found In Family's Pool Has Died

SHELTON, Wash. —

A 16-month-old boy found floating in family's pool on Tuesday has died at Children's Hospital, reports the Mason County Sheriff's Office.

The boy was found floating in a pool near Shelton by his parents who were searching for the missing child, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The boy's parents said they were doing some cleaning in their travel trailer when the boy disappeared. They called 911 when they couldn't find him and he was later found in an above-ground pool behind the trailer.

Medics arrived at the scene at the 800 block of South Sommers Drive near Shelton and then transported the boy to Mason General Hospital. He was later transferred to Children's Hospital in Seattle.

Paramedics said it was unclear how long the child had been in the water before he was discovered.
