BOTHELL, Wash. —
A serial bank robber police called the "Tour de Banks robber" was arrested in Bothell Friday, the King County Sheriff's Office says.
Detectives watching Cristian Babalai's house in the 20300 block of 124th Avenue Northeast arrested him after he left home around 8 a.m.
Detectives then served a search warrant at Babalai's home and at an adult family home he owns in the 21100 block of 46th Avenue Southeast in Snohomish County.
Authorities said Babalai, 30, is linked to robberies in Bothell, Woodinville and Monroe.
The robber earned the Tour de Banks name because he fled the bank robberies on a bicycle.
Investigators said after pedaling away from the banks, the robber would load his bicycle into a car. A description of that car led them to Babalai.
