Town Of Hamilton Evacuated Due To Flooding


The entire town of Hamilton was evacuated ahead of the rising Skagit River Monday night.

The town built a dyke to hold back the water that was expected to overwhelm the city Tuesday morning.

The order to evacuate came as the waters began rising in Hamilton. All 300 of its residents were warned to head for higher ground. Hamilton hasn't been threatened like this in nearly a decade.

The town of Hamilton was expected to have six feet of water on Main Street.
