SEATTLE —
With decision time getting close on picking a replacement for the 520 Floating Bridge across Lake Washington, there was an important move Tuesday.
A key group of state legislators chose the option for a new 6-lane replacement bridge.
An animation video heading from Seattle, east towards the lake shows several of the lids that would be built over the freeway on the Seattle side.

This plan also saves money by eliminating a tunnel from the bridge to the University of Washington.
Then out over Lake Washington, a 6-lane bridge that's taller than the current one -- to get above the spray of waves that crash over the current floating bridge Where 520 freeway connects to Interstate 5 in Seattle, the option chosen Tuesday would build a lid over that interchange.
More debates are expected before April, when the legislature is suppose to pick a plan.
