Motorcyclists share the roads with car drivers on the commute to work but they don't share the same rules.
Yes, stunts, splitting lanes and riding on the shoulder are all illegal in Washington State. Trooper Keith Leary says that doesn't mean he doesn't see dangerous riding way too often.
"He's weaving in between cars," said Leary as he pointed to his computer screen showing video of an erratic motorcyclist. "Up there you'll watch him he's driving on the shoulder."
Car driver Corey Johnson says he also sees motorcyclists break the law every day during the morning commute.
"I've had several times where you look over at your blind spot and I've seen them drive by," described Johnson.
It turns out riders may not be breaking the rules when car drivers think they are.
Motorcyclist have different laws than regular drivers. Riding in the HOV lane as a single rider is allowed plus riding next to each other in one lane is perfectly legal.
"They can ride side by side or in an off set position," stated Trooper Leary.
Motorcyclist Khaled Sabra has been riding accident free for more than 20 years.
"If you pay attention know what you're doing and use your brain it is safe," said Khaled Sabra.
Annie Sharp rides a scooter and agrees, she says it's the car drivers misbehaving most of the time.
"The most dangerous part is that cars don't see you and they don't look for you," vented Sharp.
One other law that's different for motorcyclists: believe it or not, insurance is not required.
"The very first thing I would get is life insurance and motorcycle insurance if I were to ride a motorcycle," stated Leary.
