SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. —
A man was killed when his truck plummeted down an embankment off Highway 20 in Skagit County.
The Washington State Patrol said a Ford F350 truck either went over or around a guardrail and tumbled 250 feet down a ravine Wednesday afternoon.
Video from Chopper 7 showed the truck resting on a bed of rocks against a tree.
The driver, who was ejected, died at the scene.
A female passenger survived and was coherent when rescuers arrived. Her condition is not known.
Police said the couple was in their mid-60s to early 70s.
The area of the North Cascades Highway where the crash occurred is known as Rainy Pass.
