Truck Crash Backs Up Highway 167

SUMNER, Wash. —

A tractor-trailer crashed into a bridge over Highway 167 at the 24th Street overpass near Sumner on Thursday afternoon.

Video from Chopper 7 showed that the truck was carrying some heavy equipment that appeared to be too tall to pass under the bridge.

The Washington Department of Transportation said there is no structural damage to the bridge that would result in unsafe conditions.

Officials said that cleanup will take until at least 5 p.m.

Traffic is backed up four miles northbound to Fife.
