Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Tacoma Apartment Building



TACOMA, Wash. —

A two-alarm structural fire destroyed a Tacoma apartment building in the 1400 block of East 46th Street Thursday night.

Police officers arrived at the Sunrise apartment complex to investigate reports of transient living in the building, when a woman came running out of the building screaming there was a fire, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Reported.

The officers called for the fire department and were able to safely evacuate the building.

One person allegedly jumped from a second story window, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News Reported Kevin McCarty reported.

Initial reports indicate the fire started from a heater in the wall of one of the apartments.
