A relative of the girl called 911 shortly after noon to report she had found a bloodied body at the home, Kent police spokesman Paul Petersen said.

The relative went to the home after being contacted by staff at Meridian Elementary School, who had failed to reach anyone at the girl's home after she failed to show up to school Friday morning, Petersen said.

It was not immediately known how the man and woman died or how the girl was injured. Authorities did not release any of the victims' identities.

"There was a lot of blood, but we have not totally examined the bodies," Petersen said.

The girl was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her condition was not immediately available.

Authorities had not determined whether the three were related.

"It's a family of three that lives there, and that may be who's here, the deceased parents and the daughter, but we have not confirmed that yet," Peterson said.

Petersen said officers did not find any weapons in their initial search of the home.

"The only thing we concerned ourselves with when we first entered was, are the people deceased or are they injured, and is there anyone else in the house?" Petersen said.
