Two More Fort Lewis Based Soldiers Killed In Iraq

TACOMA —

The Pentagon says two Fort Lewis soldiers died in

Iraq on Thanksgiving Day. They died when a bomb exploded near their

Humvee and flipped it into a canal near Bagdad.

The men were assigned to the Army's 42nd Military Police

Brigade. They were identified yesterday as 32-year-old Staff

Sergeant Steven C. Reynolds of Jordan, New York, and 21-year-old

Private First Class Marc A. Delgado of Lithia, Florida. They were

assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 170th Company.

Earlier this month, Fort Lewis welcomed home about 120 soldiers

from the 42nd Military Police Brigade -- the same unit Reynolds and

Delgado were assigned to. They bring the Fort Lewis toll to 70

since Operation Iraqi Freedom began in 2003.

The post has an estimated 1,900 soldiers stationed in Iraq and

the Middle East.
