Vandals Destroy Holiday Decorations On Eastside

BELLEVUE, Wash. —

Vandals have knocked down, smashed or stolen holiday decorations at 10 homes in Bellevue this holiday season, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

At one house, trees were toppled, a penguin lost its head and a gingerbread house was lying on its side.

"It's just all smashed, you can see where they just smashed it in," said Jacque Calkins. "It was mean. It was a nasty, mean thing to do."

In several Bellevue neighborhoods, decorations are either broken or missing, including a snow globe on a lawn that was smashed and several lighted lollipops that were stolen.

"We're thinking it's probably kids off for Christmas break and trying to paint the town red and white," said Michael Chiu of Bellevue police, who are investigating.
