Water Main Break Closes Busy Street In Downtown Everett

EVERETT, Wash. —

A water main break has closed part of Hewitt Avenue in downtown Everett Thursday morning.

At 6:30 a.m., Kate Reardon with the City of Everett said the break of a 12-inch water main is effecting Hewitt Avenue from Virginia Avenue to Cedar Street.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Rick Price said some water may have reached Central Welding Supply, but didn’t appear to cause major damage.

The break happened right in front the business at Hewitt Avenue and Fulton Street.

Reardon said drivers should avoid Hewitt Avenue from Broadway to the trestle area.

She said drivers should instead take Pacific Avenue or Everett Avenue.

Crews are at the scene.
