SEATTLE —
A West Seattle church is helping the neediest families Saturday morning by giving out food.
Many people were outside of the Eastridge Church where volunteers gave out a turkey and a bag of groceries to those in need, which were purchased from funds raised by the church.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Frank Field spoke with Rendy Bland, who started waiting in line at 5 a.m.
“I live with this little lady, and I take care of her. And she needs a turkey, so I’m going to give all this stuff to her. And she goes to the food bank, and I do that for her,” Bland said.
Bland told KIRO 7 that she arrived early to make sure they would not run out of turkeys.
The Eastridge Church is also providing haircuts, coats and gloves.
There are 500 turkeys that will be given out at the church, and 500 more will be given out at the church’s bigger location in Issaquah on Issaquah-Fall City Road.
