KIRKLAND, Wash. —

A high-speed chase started in Snoqualmie, at times, veering into oncoming traffic, and continued for miles before ending on Interstate 405 in Kirkland.

Police said that around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, dispatchers received calls about a wrong-way driver who was driving fast in Snoqualmie.

Officers said they found the driver on Snoqualmie Parkway, but he fled south to Interstate 90 and then headed west.

Issaquah police and the state patrol joined the chase, but the driver made it all the way up to the Northeast 85th exit on I-405 in Kirkland.

He finally stopped near the centerline of I-405, got out of the car and ran away.

Officers caught the man and he was taken to a waiting squad car around 1:30 a.m.

Police said the man faces charges of reckless driving, fleeing  and possibly others.
