Woman Drowns At Flaming Geyser State Park



BLACK DIAMOND, Wash. —

A 20-year-old woman drowned in a Green River River inflatable rafting accident Monday in Flaming Geyser State Park near Black Diamond in King County.

The sheriff's office said the victim was not wearing a life jacket.

Another woman who was wearing a life jacket survived the accident when the raft overturned in 52-degree water.

The drowning victim and the survivor were not immediately identified.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Authorities said this is the first drowning along the Green River this year.
