Woman Fatally Shot In Maple Valley

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. —

A man armed with a rifle fatally shot a 32-year-old woman and injured her 16-year-old daughter on Wednesday according to police, who say the shooting appeared to be a case of domestic violence, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The man was arrested at the scene, which was outside a condominium in the 25400 block of 213th Avenue SE in Maple Valley.

The woman was hit in the stomach and was taken by Airlift helicopter to a hospital, where she died.

The girl was shot in the hand.

The alleged gunman is the 33-year-old husband of the woman and stepfather of the girl, police said.

"He was a well-dressed man. He was in suit clothes," said Debbie McQueen, a neighbor.

Neighbors said the 16-year-old girl, holding her bleeding hand, ran to a neighbor's home to call 911.
