Woman Shot During Home Invasion Robbery

MALTBY, Wash. —

A woman was shot during a home invasion robbery near Maltby Tuesday morning, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Two men wearing hooded sweatshirts and bandanas entered a home in the 18000 block of 67th Avenue Southeast at about 7 a.m. and robbed two women.

The two men then attacked the women, deputies said.

"When they were leaving the residence, they fired several rounds from a handgun and struck the friend of the resident who lives here," said Rich Niebusch of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

The friend of the woman who lives there was shot in the arm. She was taken to a hospital. Deputies said the injury is not life-threatening.

The men fled in an older Jeep Cherokee.

Detectives said they didn't know whether the home invasion robbery was related to the burglary of a nearby home last weekend.
