SEATTLE —
Dave Villwock in the U-16 Ellstrom Elam Plus secured the Unlimited Hydroplane Chevrolet Cup Final by blowing away the competition, becoming four wins closer to the all-time win record.
The U-16 boat was in command during the whole race and ran away from the competition after lap four.
The only boat with a piston engine in the field, the U-3 Grandview on the Lake, finished second, ending the day with one victory and two second-place finishes.

The U-16 team jumped out to the early lead and was in danger of encroachment after the first turn.
Villwock flew by the competition and dealt with rough waters on his way to the finish line.
On the last lap, the U-1 Oberto boat went down, ruining its chances to defend its national title and finishing sixth.
With the victory, Villwock is closer to breaking the all-time win record of the great hydroplane driver Bill Muncey.
The U-37 Hoss Mortgage Investors, U-5 Formulaboats.com, U-17 US NW Express and U-7 Graham Trucking finished third, fourth, fifth and seventh respectively.
