Bone-Chilling Cold Coming

SEATTLE —

The KIRO 7 Pinpoint Severe Weather Center warns we'll experience a dramatic shift to unseasonably cold weather this week that will include plummeting snow levels.

"It's the exact opposite pattern as last week's," said KIRO 7 weather anchor Rob Mayeda. "Instead of warm, moist air from the south, we'll be getting cold, dry air from the north."

Two strong cold fronts are moving south from Canada this week, bringing colder air and strong winds.

The first front sweeps southward through Western Washington on Tuesday afternoon and the second is expected to arrive Wednesday evening.

Snow levels will drop to 1,000 feet in the North Cascades and near 1,500 to 2,000 feet in the Central Cascades.
