The decision to close the beaches came after officials received the results of routine water quality tests.

Newcastle Beach Park still open for picnicking and playground use, Bellevue city officials said.

At Juanita Beach Park, test results of the water showed a rise in fecal coliform bacteria, Kirkland city officials said.
