The storm brought new snow to the Cascades, where traction tires were required on Snoqualmie Pass over Interstate 90, and on White Pass on U.S. 12.

State Route 20, the North Cascades highway, remained closed because of snow slides over the road.

Mount Baker Ski Area near Bellingham announced that it is in normal midweek operation, and this weekend would have all lifts running and an expected snow base of 100 inches.
